How did we Shoot this 360 Product Spin Photography Shoe Example

This 360 product spin photography example of a shoe went beyond the traditional method of placing an object on the turntable. In an effort to communicate the sole of the shoe, we decided to suspend it and angle it at a 45-degree angle using the 360 Photography Turntable Hanging Kit and Fishing Line. The fishing line was looped around the hanging kit plate to hang the shoe (fishing lines at different lengths to achieve the toe of the shoe angled down). We used a pair of sawhorses and a wood platform with a center hole drilled out to mount the Silver MID 360 Photography Turntable in an upside down position. We then connected the 360 Product Photography Hanging Kit to the turntable stem from the underside of the platform.

The lighting we used with the 4 LED Studio Lighting Kit – which we were able to set up as high key lighting, with two lights placed behind the shoe pointing at the background to blow it out (to make it easier to achieve a white background). The other two lights in the lit were placed on the floor on the left and right of the camera, positioned to concentrate the light at the shoe.

The 360 shoe photography was automated via the Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography + Video Software. The software allowed us to adjust camera settings to achieve correct exposure, set a fixed focal point, pre-crop the frame, pre-rotate the turntable to ensure centered shoe positioning, set number of frames per 360 then automate the 360 shoe photography capture workflow. After image capture, we used the editing tools within Shutter Stream 360 software to edit, process and create the 360 product spin output.
