360 Product View Notes

This 360 Product View Example of a Spinning Fishing Reel was a fun one to shoot! The great part about this product was it stood upright on its own – so there was no need to use a 360 product photography hanging kit to suspend the item. Instead, we used the Rotate feature in Shutter Stream 360 Software to auto-rotate the frame 180-degrees – to give the product a hanging orientation.

While we could have shot this easily with the LumiPad 360 Product Photography Lighting Kit, we decided to take a different approach and instead use a combination of Iconasys LED Studio Lights. We set this up in a high key lighting environment which allowed us to overexpose the background, getting very close to pure white. We also set a top down light and a light behind the camera to light the subject. We also used two white 20 x 30″ white foamboard sheets to help control side reflections.

The Silver MID turntable was perfect for this product, we also used the 360 Acrylic Riser to eliminate any harsh shadows. Images were edited in the Shutter Stream 360 software and only required a slight adjustment to Levels to get the final result (which we applied in a batch process).
