360 Jewelry Photography Notes

This Gold Ring was very straight forward when shooting in 360. We swayed from the standard Macro Jewelry Photography lens and shot this with a fixed 50mm lens (at aperture 16). We were able to get ample depth of field with no focus stacking required. The total process time was about 7 minutes (about 2.5 minutes to capture 72 frames (this is an automated process) then editing, processing and output taking another ~4 minutes. The LumiPad 360 Lighting was contained using the included white foamboard panels (placed on top and either side of the lighting). This helped to contain the lighting and control reflections to ensure for consistency on the reflective gold band. We had used the small 360 Acrylic Riser used on top of the Silver MID series to help eliminate shadows – which resulted in high quality 360 jewelry photography with a pure white background.

In the included Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography + Video Software, we applied some editing changes in a batch process (edit one image then click apply to all). Edits included:

Levels: Minimal adjustments to black, white and midtones to adjust colors
Sharpness: Added a value of 2 to sharpness to enhance image quality
