360 Product Images Notes
Shooting a 360 Product Image of this Silver Valve was easy, fast and efficient. We shot this with a low cost, entry level Canon DSLR and the Canon fixed 50mm lens (set to aperture 16). We were able to get ample depth of field with no focus stacking required. The total process time was about 5.5 minutes – which included automated image capture, batch editing and processing, then 360 view creation in Interactive HTML5 output. Due to the reflective nature of the Valve, we decided to use 3 white foamboard panels (placed on top and either side of the lighting) ultimately creating a light box effect. By using panels, we contained the LumiPad 360 Lighting to to control and promote consistent reflections on the valve. We had used the small 360 Acrylic Riser used on top of the Silver MID series to help eliminate shadows – which resulted in high quality 360 product image with a pure white background.
In the included Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography Software, we applied some editing changes in a batch process (edit one image then click apply to all). Edits included:
Levels: Minimal adjustments to black, white and midtones to slightly adjust colors and background
Sharpness: Added a value of 2 to sharpness to enhance image quality
