360 Mobile Phone Photography Notes
Creating 360 Mobile Phone Photography is great way for manufacturers and retailers to better communicate in the digital space. In addition, for those dealing 2nd hand or refurbished mobile phones, that sometimes have blemishes, scratches & damage, each phone is unique. It is important to provide customers images of the actual device being sold. This will help to ensure customer satisfaction and decrease product returns as the customer will be able to see the exact phone they are purchasing – rather than a stock image, some descriptive text and a cosmetic condition grade.
The great thing about Iconasys solutions for 360 mobile phone photography is they’re fast, efficient, easy and will ensure for consistent, repeatable results every time (with little photography experience required). This example took ~5 minutes to create (could have been done much quicker if using a lower frame count), with much of the process (image capture, editing and processing) being automated.
The lighting set up was simple and straight forward, we used a LumiPad 360 backlight panel sitting behind the phone, a top down light and white foam board on either side of the phone. The white foamboard helped reflect the light from the backpanel back on the phone to create an even and consistent exposure. It also helped control reflections (as the phone screen is highly reflective).
