360 Product View Notes

Although the LumiPad 360 Product Photography Lighting Panels would have done a great job for shooting this desktop Mic, we wanted to communicate High Key Lighting Technique using our 4 Light LED Studio Kit. We positioned 2X lights at the background paper and set lights to full power. We then positioned 2X lights up front to illuminate the microphone – these were set at 50% dimming. By doing this, when we set the correct exposure for the product, the background is blown out to white. We also used two white 20 x 30″ white foamboard sheets to help eliminate side reflections.

We set to shoot 36 frames (one capture every 10-degrees) then during capture, we paused the imaging sequence to adjust the microphone. We did this at 3 separate stops during the 360 capture sequence to add movement to the  microphone head (while maintaining the mic stand in the same position. This created a 360 Spin Product Image with dual animation effect.

We applied some batch image editing in the Shutter Stream 360 Software. These included:

Rotate: adjusted the image 0.5 degrees CW as we had shot this slightly crooked (used the image alignment tool to help with this)
Levels: Minimal adjustments to black, white and midtones to adjust colors
