360 Diamond View Notes

360 Diamond Photography can be a pretty complex process and requires patience to get the inital set up correct. Iniital set up requires correct camera settings, focal length, shooting angle, focal point, frame count and lighting. After initial set up, its simply place the diamond/gemstone on the turntable then hit start. When using an Iconasys 360 Diamond Photography Studio, we help guide users to ensure they can achieve maximum image quality, clarity and flawless 360 Diamond Photography in house in minutes.

In this example we used the Iconasys Jewelry Photography Light Box with the Silver Series Jewelry Photography Turntable to shoot this 360 Diamond image with a total of 140 frames (1 capture every 2.57 degrees).  We used the LED Lights in the studio (bottom, front and back LED panels) at maximum power however disabled the LED Sparkle Light. We inserted a piece of black paper on either side of the turntable (this helped create contrast in the stone) and used a white foamboard piece to cover up the front door opening (cut hole in front door panel to shoot through).

We set camera to shooting at ~40-degree downward angle and set camera settings to Aperture = 10, Shutter Speed = 1/30, ISO 100 and using a custom white balance (which we set for the Jewelry Photography Light Box).

360 Diamond Photography System with Camera

After 360 image capture was complete, we entered into the Editing mode and applied the following edits in a batch process (set edits for 1 image then Apply to All):

Levels: Black Point Slider = 8, White Point Slider = 236, Midtone Slider = 1.08
Sharpness: Increased to 4.6
Saturation: Desaturated this slightly using a value of -12

We then output individual frames in JPG format (batch renaming) and also created an interactive 360 product view in HTML5 format. For the 360 View output, we customized button location, color, spin rate, mouse control sensitivity and added a watermark.
